Who: Illumination & You!
What: Lu has offered to help various people with their complaints, concerns, and general magical inquiries. If they've offered this to your character, or you just want to see what they're up to, feel free to post a top level.
When: A few days after the return to the Library.
Where: Some side room in the library.
Content warnings: None yet, but probably some mention of substance (alcohol, drug) use.

Somewhere in the library, Illumination has commandeered a small side room and set up a series of chalkboards, note paper, and various other materials used for magical testing. (Salt, stones, a couple of the gems from Link's stash, ink, a magnet, etc.)

"I have not, no."

And getting trapped in ice is one thing, but arguing over calculus is another.

"Preparing to go on-stage at the 'Tail o' the Dog All-Topless Revue'. What are you doing here?" Lu scribbles on the board a bit more, until they've written down the last bit of whatever they had been working on.

[wantinghope]

"Well." Wait, where had she been going with that? "You probably would like him." Sokka was the one with the zingers. Sometimes.

"You're a performer?" Katara's sixteen, she has no idea what that was. "I guess I was just, you know, looking around." She does at least, unlike Sokka, know how to look with her eyes and not her hands.

"Aren't we all?" Illumination would prefer not to be on a stage or the center of attention, but they mask their true intentions and preferences regularly. "And what I'm doing is working on a couple of math problems."

Sigils. Geometry. All that good, crunchy stuff.

"I'm trying to get a nice man drunk." Through math.

[wantinghope]

"I mean, I'm not?" She's a lot of things, but performer? No: She'd die of stage fright.

"Oh. I didn't know it could do that." She knew math was important for flying machines, but that was a new one. She squints at the board. Yeah...none of that makes sense. "Is that...are you trying to rob him!?" Because why else...??

[noonlight]

"Intentional or otherwise, all people are performers. Such is the nature of how society works, but we can leave that aside for now." Unless Katara wants to get into theories of the mind and social camouflage.

"And, yes, I plan to get him reasonably sozzled and then steal something rare and precious from him," they say perfectly at ease with the idea of it all.

Through wine.

And math.

She had seen performers, and she was not one. But that was not the point, because...what?

Right. She squares her shoulders, all five foot three of herself, and gets in a combat stance. "I can't let you do that."

"Aren't you precocious." Illumination sees the stance, but doesn't match it in any way; however, they are armed with a violent and dangerous weapon.

Lu licks the end of the piece of chalk (their mighty weapon), turns half-way from Katara, and sketches something on the board. "And, you're welcome to do whatever you feel is necessary."

"Hey!" That's not..."You're not a very nice person." She can't attack someone who isn't attacking her, though. That's against honor. "You said you're going to rob someone!"

[noonlight]

"Well, well, and here I thought I was a poor teacher. You have learned that I'm not very nice. Isn't that lovely for us both?"

When at their best, Illumination is catty. This may not be a good day.

"I don't think you want me to teach many more lessons, do you?"

Have the most sixteen-year old huff, worthy of Alexis Rose herself. "You better not try anything when I'm around."

Which she's not, anymore. She wanted to know what all the stuff was, because maybe it was something she could learn, but, not from someone who was going to drug someone and rob them. She didn't know they let criminals here.
